Overview

ISO certification confirms that an organisation's management systems, products, or services meet internationally recognised standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), ISO 27001:2022 (Information Security), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety) are among the most sought-after certifications for Indian businesses.

ISO certification is not issued by a government body — it requires engagement with an NABCB or IAF-accredited certification body (CB) that audits your organisation against the relevant ISO standard. MFiling assists businesses in identifying the right ISO standard, conducting gap analysis, preparing documentation (Quality Manual, SOPs, procedures), and coordinating with accredited CBs for audit scheduling, Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits, and certificate issuance.

MFiling professional charges: from Rs.9,999. Certification body charges are billed separately based on scope and number of employees. See our M-ISO Certify section for individual ISO standard details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ISO certification mandatory?
ISO certification is not legally mandatory in India, but it is required by many government procurement contracts, export clients, large corporates, and regulated industries. ISO 9001 is effectively mandatory for manufacturing exports to Europe and the US, and ISO 27001 is increasingly required by enterprise IT clients and RBI-regulated entities.
How long does ISO certification last?
ISO certificates are valid for 3 years. During this period, the certification body conducts annual surveillance audits (Year 1 and Year 2) to ensure continued compliance. At Year 3, a full re-certification audit is conducted to renew the certificate.
