Annual DIR-3 KYC filing for directors by September 30 — web-based OTP verification or form-based with DSC. Deactivated DIN reactivation with Rs.5,000 penalty payment.
DIN eKYC (DIR-3 KYC) is an annual compliance requirement under Rule 12A of the Companies (Appointment and Qualification of Directors) Rules, 2014. Every director holding a DIN must complete the KYC exercise by September 30th each year to maintain current contact information and prevent fraudulent use of inactive DINs.
Non-completion of DIN KYC by the deadline results in the DIN being marked as 'Deactivated due to non-filing of DIR-3 KYC.' A single deactivated DIN blocks all MCA e-filings for the company — AOC-4, MGT-7A, DIR-12, and any other MCA form cannot be filed until all directors' DINs are reactivated. Reactivation requires filing DIR-3 KYC after the deadline with a Rs.5,000 penalty per DIN.
Two modes: Web-based DIR-3 KYC-WEB (for directors with no changed details — quick OTP verification, free) and Form-based DIR-3 KYC (for first-time filers or changed details — DSC required, Aadhaar OTP authentication).
MFiling professional charges: Rs.499/director (web-based, on-time) | Rs.999/director (form-based or reactivation).
List all directors with active DINs — check MCA portal for current KYC status of each.
Web-based KYC-WEB for directors with unchanged details | Form-based for first-time filers or changed Aadhaar/address.
Log in to MCA21, navigate to DIR-3 KYC (Web), verify pre-filled details, enter Aadhaar OTP and email OTP.
Fill DIR-3 KYC form with updated details, attach PAN and Aadhaar, authenticate with Aadhaar OTP, sign with DSC.
Check MCA portal that DIN status shows 'KYC Done' for all directors — confirm no deactivation.
For deactivated DINs — pay Rs.5,000 government fee, file DIR-3 KYC after deadline, DIN reactivated within 1–2 days.
